At Jarlmadangah, 250 km east of Broome, Mary Anne and Allison met with John Watson and Anne Milgin who Mary Anne knew well from her Kimberley days. Gordon Marshall also came along to share his stories and listen. John took us out to see a road used by the army in World War 2 and at Mt Anderson station John gave a lively account of his memories of watching local Aboriginal stockman box with army men. We made a welcome stop at the Fitzroy River to cool our feet in the water, before heading to Derby for the night.
