Hilary Saunders

Hilary Saunders

Hilary Saunders spoke to us in Portland about the service of her father Reg Saunders and his brother Harry Saunders. Harry was killed in action in World War 2 while his older brother, Captain Reginald Saunders, served in both World War 2 and the Korean War and was a very well respected soldier and leader. Hilary is keen to see greater recognition of all aboriginal men who have served in the defence forces. Hilary also joined Kevin Clarke for a separate interview in Portland where they discussed indigenous servicemen and women more broadly, and their experiences growing up in families with fathers, uncles and brothers who served.
