Hazel Fisher and Melita Orcher were interviewed together and spoke to the Serving Our Country project about the many members of their families who served in the defence forces throughout the 20th Century. Their service spanned World War 1, World War 2, Korea and Vietnam. Women in the family were also involved in the Air Force and the Women’s Land Army. Both women have a lot of pride in their families service, but also anger at the treatment of some returned family members and the ongoing ramifications of government policies of separating families. Estelle Sandow was also present during this interview in Brisbane.
