Gaye Doolan

Gaye Doolan discusses her four years in the Women’s Royal Australian Navy Service (WRANS) from 1968. After training at HMAS Cerberus in Victoria, Gaye served in Canberra and Sydney in communications and she discusses her training, service life and Aboriginal background, particularly in relation to Flinders Island and Tasmania, where her family lived. Gaye also discusses the service of her father Tasman Holt in World War 2 in Borneo - his memories of the conflict and his return from war.
