Muki Muir's interview in Darwin

Muki Muir talks about her pride in the service of her father William Muir and brother Ally Muir who served in World War 2 and Vietnam respectively. Muki also discusses her mother Hilda Joyce Muir’s pride and experiences after the war, including the death of her father and loss of the family home in Cyclone Tracy in 1974. Muki and her family attend Anzac Day services every year and have been active members of both the RSL and Legacy.

This interview took place on 12 September 2015 in Darwin and was conducted by Dr Allison Cadzow with Craig Greene as part of the Australian Research Council-funded research project Serving our Country: a history of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the defence of Australia.
