Professor Mick Dodson launches new exhibition at the National Archives of Australia

24th March 2017

Professor Mick Dodson opened a new exhibition at the National Archives of Australia (NAA) in Canberra today. Facing Two Fronts: the fight for respect is showing till December 2017, and Professor Dodson remarked that this exhibition is about the ‘Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals whose lives were changed by military service. It investigates the discrimination they faced and the opportunities for activism and advocacy that military service provided them. It tells personal stories of the fight for recognition, for social justice and for equality … striking accounts of people fighting from WW1 onwards all around this country: for land, for pay for their service, for citizenship and recognition.’

Visit the NAA events page for related public events and to book a free guided tour of this exhibition.
