Linda McBride-Yuke

Linda McBride-Yuke’s father Lambert McBride served in World War 2. Following the war he was a leader of the Queensland Council for the Advancement of Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders and the One People of Australia League, and heavily involved in the movement for the 1967 Referendum. Linda’s brother Bill McBride also served in the Navy for about 30 years from 1972, and he challenged racism in the Navy in the Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission. Linda is heavily involved in the Reconciliation Movement in Brisbane and has also lived in the United States.
