Glenda Humes

Glenda Humes

Glenda Humes is proud to be both Gunditjmara from the western districts of Victoria through her father’s side and Jaowyn from around Pine Creek in the Northern Territory on her mother’s side. Glenda has a rich family history of service, which includes her father, Captain Reginald Walter Saunders, who served in both World War 2 and the Korean War and her uncle Harry Saunders, who was killed in New Guinea while serving. Glenda treasures and holds the memories and stories of their experiences of military service that have been captured in newspaper articles, letters sent home to family, telegrams and photographs.
