Allison took a short road trip to visit In Memory: an exhibition acknowledging Shoalhaven Aboriginal men and women at the Shoalhaven City Council Art Centre and Regional Gallery, Nowra, NSW.

The exhibition showcased the extensive participation of local Aboriginal people in Defence through evocative objects loaned by local families, photos and accessible text.

Margaret Simoes, Aboriginal Community Development Officer, Shoalhaven City Council and Annette Twyman,Consultant Researcher and co-curator who prepared the exhibition shared their time and insights generously, and Bruce Tindale, Regional Gallery Manager and Curator also provided background about the exhibition.

It was well worth the winding drive!
